Trigger Trash
And Shooters Who Care
Story and Photos by Daniel George
I do not shoot guns, because I cannot afford the ammunition. That is the excuse I recite whenever a local asks if I own a firearm, and it is one reason.
As a photographer who regularly uses four-by-five-inch color film, I essentially shell out seven dollars every time I release the shutter. All available funds go into my artwork. Another reason is that I am simply not interested. Guns played no part in my upbringing. I have never been hunting. My total shooting experience can be summarized in the requirements of a single merit badge. In spite of that, I have dedicated quite a bit of time and effort to the examination of gun culture in eastern Idaho.
