10   MK Lecture–”Orchids of Idaho”: Idaho is home to 28 native orchid species. They occur in a surprising array of colors, shapes, and sizes, from the dainty fairy slipper, which is bright pink, to the giant stream orchid, which is peach and green. A few lack chlorophyll and parasitize other plants. Some attract pollinators in unusual ways. We will cover unique traits of orchids, and how to identify and search for Idaho species.
